Mike your work is subpar and is subject. Hahaha, just a stupid joke. Brilliant work. Thanks for sharing.

I did mean subject (something we talk about "a person or thing that is being discussed, described, or dealt with".). Humor is subjective. For me that can be hit or miss.

I didn't want to add nonsense explaining this on Kubes thread with a new post. So I replied in this post.

Amazing work!!! as always.

Hey Mike! You are correct about '39 having the same clips. Here's a photo of a '40 coupe I did last year or the year before. Gosh, time flies...

I want to thank all of you guys for the very kind responses.
I do not feel worthy of them. I'm just a guy with a case of OCD that has been fortunate in the way it (the OCD) has manifested itself.
Still, you guys are appreciated! Thank you all...

Oh the raw fingertips. Sanding around all the rivets on an aircraft fuselage always made my hands a little too soft. There wasn't much skin left after getting things all blocked & smooth. The cars aren't as bad but it still takes its toll.

Mike, thanks for sharing. You have the patience of a toothache and the talent of a fine
Tiffeny jeweler. So great to see such excellence.

Look at the lengths that this maniac with OCD goes to....notice the white wrap on the rear housing and spring for protection. It's no wonder these things finish-up so damned nice! DD

Getting mighty close to some color! Just finishing the first phase of wet sanding. Floor pans are tedious and as such got left for last.

Looking good!
So are most of your components done already? Meaning once the body is painted do you start assembling everything?

Pretty much - yes.
I maintain a number of shelves dedicated for only the current project. Safe and clean in my basement. Boxes of parts are inventoried so I can easily find whatever it is I am looking for.
One might think I am patient and I suppose for the most part, I am.
Mt patience runs short when I am assembling something and find I don't have "X" and must either wait to find it and / or rebuild & refinish.
nearly every single piece is restored and ready to install once the body is placed back on the chassis.
I really enjoy the assembly process

Got the floor and inside painted today. After it cures for a day or two, I'll paint the bottom of the floors.

I too always got really excited once all traces of dirt, rust and grunge were history, the paint was cured and slick WITHOUT runs, your fingernails were finally clean and presentable again, and you could leisurely sit down and begin gluing cool stuff back together again. Looks like you're getting close to completing another one for the books! DD

Leisurely sit down?
I've heard of such things as leisure. Methinks nothing but Folklore.

What ya gotta understand is that my "leisure" here in Texas comes with a couple of qualifications, which might explain why I'm still a little behind with some project deadlines, but I NEVER did miss an appointment with a cool Corona on a porch in the shade! DD
