How do I back flush early V-8?
Have an 8BA in my '36 and would like to back flush cooling system, there are no heater hoses, could I attach garden hose direct to heads and back flush through and out the the radiator fill?

I would pull lower hose to keep anything from going in radiator.

Flush everything both ways. Taking off the bottom hose. use a rag around your hose to add some pressure. When you flush the opposite direction from the normal flow you will be surprised at the debris coming out.

There are some creative ways of cleaning and flushing a radiator on "You Tube".
I would start by disconnecting the hoses and blocking the bottom outlet closed, filling the radiator with vinegar, let it soak (even overnight) then rinse with a water and baking soda mixture will break some of the junk loose. Follow that by flushing it a few times with water. |

I let mine cool before draining water, parked by the swimming pool. Hooked up pool filter discharge to hose connection on head mounted pumps ('36 lb) & blasted it through out the bottom. Also went backward through the radiator. Mice had put pink fiberglass in block.
