Question Does the coil need to be grounded?

When mounting the coil to the firewall, do I need to make sure it has a good ground? As in, sand some paint off of the firewall and off of the mounting bracket to get bare metal on the two touching.

No ground needed. The coil body has no connection to the insides.

Cool. Thanks.

I seemed to remember seeing guys run an engine on a chassis with no body by mounting a piece of plywood on the chassis to hold the coil and a temporary fuel tank... but they could have run a ground wire that I could not see.

The only ground the coil needs is thru the points on the primary lead. [ insert smiley face here].
