I was only joking about no drill mudflaps. I personally think the AÂ’s are the perfect platform for proud owners to Express some creativity and Make it their own. Makes me smile that they made it a driver and not a trailer queen.

At what point does the frame need to be boxed when swapping out the original “A” motor with these higher performance motors?

Thanks. One of the reasons i chose this engine was that it is exactly the same length as the stock banger and is simple like the banger so it looks right at home in there. I am also using the mercedes 4spd which posed some challenges with the shifter since i want everything to look stock (except the stance and wheels) so I had to get the shifter in the middle of the trans with a side shift tranny. I was able to get close. It's 1/2" further back and 1/2" to the left of the stock sifter position but that as close as i could get it for now. Once it's all done i will look it over and make "Z" the shifter handle below the boot to bring it to it's proper location. The E brake wasn't too bad though. The mercedes runs a hydraulic clutch so that is nice/simple one I got the line adapted for metric on the slave and imperial on the master.

That's a good question. I don't know. I boxed the frame "just because". The engine is about the same weight as the banger and only 70HP so It wasn't necessary but I boxed it anyway.
