Default On the Road Again

After a 9-month hibernation due to a couple of valve seats that came loose 600 miles from home, I finally got everything back to gather just in time for our first official outing of the season. Got everything finished up around 8:30 Friday night in time for a 10am Saturday departure. Not a real long trip this time (<50 miles), but enough to put a smile on my face. Mine is the one in the front of the picture below. There were 2 other Model A's in attendance that missed the picture. Also included are our token Chevy, VW, and Chrysler, all a part of our club. Lunch at Garcias was pretty good as well!

That is not apple green on your front rims, is it ? I like the contrast and that's a great looking truck.. How many guys in your club up there ?

Story behind the rims: I bought a set of nearly new Silvertown tires, and they just happened to come with the rims. I don't think they are exactly apple green, but close. When "my ship comes in" I plan on eventually replacing the tires with 19" radials and will probably put them on the rims in my avatar.

The loosely knit "Alaskan As" has over 100 guys/gals on the list with over 200 vehicles. But that covers the entire state. The local AAMA affiliate has close to 100 members, of course they are not all Model As.

Carl
I thought you had a new motor built last year?
Nice line up.

Tiny: Same motor, just a different problem this time. The only original parts (from when I bought the PU 5 years ago) now are the upper Babbitt and the crankshaft. Still have dreams of having a new "professionally built" motor one of these days.

Johnny: Since I only have one, yea, I've been out of it, for sure!

Liked the picture and the story. Glad to see you're back on the road! My motor is still in the shop being rebuilt. Our club had our first tour a couple weeks ago. I was just a rider.
