Chuck, you could always remove the skirts and don't forget to remove the hub caps as well...LOL. Have a great time, wish I could be there.

I did speak to Tom Clark from the Fantasy Speedway yesterday. A combination of heat and over reving cause most of the problems. They have most of the replacements in hand or in transit. They are mainly waiting on machine work to fix bearing surfaces. I think they could use funding more than anything. So how about taking a collection during the tour and get it to them? What do you guys think?

That's not a bad idea. I would be willing to donate some parts to help them out. If they need something I could bring with me, I would need to know quickly since I plan to leave for NH early tomorrow morning.

Racing our cars sounds cool. I would consider running my original '35 fordor Rouge car around the track a few times . Would I need a roll bar?

From what I gathered the facility will be closed. Everybody will be fixing the racers in their own shops.
A few laps racing could give your cars a whole new look. Do ya really want to?

I found a phone number on their website and talked with Tom Clark. No parts needed. I think he said there was one flathead Ford racer.

I'd be okay with kicking in some cash. Tom said their concession prices are real old school, and their entrance fee was only $5, so it seems their hearts are firmly in the right spot.

Dad and I are hitting the road Wednesday morning for an easy 400 mile day, then getting to Portsmouth by mid-day Thursday. Stopping in Sturbridge MA for Wednesday evening.

I can't hardly wait! Gonna eat me some bugs, then eat some more.

Jeff,
Bugs in the teeth are fine. Just don't turn turtle in that pheaton. That would be a whole new look. See you and Henry Thursday.

Thanks a bunch Cecil.

You notice I didn't comment on racing our cars? Some have said I drive a little fast but no way I'm going out on a dirt track and working things out. Our tires won't take it I'm sure! And we don't have any rock dings in our fenders yet.

Chuck, I'm always thinking on how not to end up upside down! No matter what it looks like in my avatar. If I bend that Phaeton just the least little bit there will be tears. And bad words. Oh yeah.
