1946-48 factory open drive banjo rear - what seal #
Hello : i have a 46-48 factory open drive banjo rear end that needed
some attention so I figured I would just rebuild it and get it out of the way. Removing the pinion and frond housing was no issue, removing the factory seal was nearly impossible ... I had to destroy it in order to get it out of its resting place Does anyone have a replacement seal number that I can order from or cross reference it to something newer? I have not been able to find the right section in any of the dealer catalogs that might have it listed - or just simply stupid Thanks, Steve |

Speedway Motors sold the open dive shaft conversion, and could have the seal you are
looking for. Their phone # 800.979.0122

Speedways open drive is different than the factory style, and I have one of them
to compare and they are not the same. I sent a message to C&G but they have not responded to my question..... The link from Google only relates to the heavier Ford axles and not the standard banjo size rear ends. Still looking for an answer. Thanks |

Steve ....That "01Y-4676" has to be correct if it fits the '42-'47 1/2-ton pick-up. Click BELOW for C&G link to the seal! https://cgfordparts.com/pinion-seal-...-01y-4676.html . |

If you can get micrometer measurements, housing i.d.,
shaft o.d., seal thickness, there is such a thing as a size chart. I have an old one- National seals... it was old a long time ago... Still works. Karl |

National 5778 should be available locally, or Napa 15788
