Re: Xxx
Didn't switch to "tube" shocks, didn't diversify and almost forgot a victim of a "free market place?"

Re: Xxx
Bill, I was a bit concerned at first about opening a triple X rated post but curiosity got the best of me

Re: Xxx
Yea you got me there too Bill! Still I go back to my earlier post on this. So long as governments allow big corporates to domicile themselves in the Cayman Islands for tax purposes whilst moving production to low-cost labour countries, we will just see more of the same. Then as Ron says, we go out and by the inferior low-cost product, only to come home from the store and complain! I drive a great 1999 Aussie-built Ford, and would love to keep it, but my wife wins the argument when she points out that if we sell it we can buy a similar Toyota which is built in Malaysia and will give 40mpg as opposed to 25. With gas here sitting at about $7 US per gallon, who would argue. She'll never get me to sell the flathead though!

Re: Xxx
Yep the triple X got me too.
I agree with Bill greed sunk Houdaille.....corporate , union, and gov't. Today it's the gov't. I could easily employ additional help in my shop but when I talk to other small guys the reward for hiring another person is mountains of rules and regs, fees and taxes. Don't even think about hiring off the books or as an outside contractor, big brother slammed that door too. Charlie ny |
