I only saw 6-7 seconds down the driveway.

Some of the best times in our Model-A have been on casual tours organized by our local chapter. The Great Race seem ok, but not quite as nice. Thought I was gonna get a unique car at auction to enter in The Great Race a couple years ago, but it didn't work out.

N Sieber,

Post your dates and route. Some Model A owners may want to join in for all or part of the trip. If you route through my area, I would certainly join in for a few days.

We do our long trips during winter. It gets too cold here (no where as cold as you guys suffer through) so we head north where it's warmer but not that horrible humid tropical heat. I started a blog on this forum on one of those trips but it was taken down. NEVER again.

Keep us posted on the preparations. Weather would be one of my concerns.
Looking forward to following your adventure.

Thank you all for the gracious comments! I am extremely excited about this trip! As of now, my friend and I will be leaving on July 17th from PA and driving out to Los Angeles. We plan on hitting 15 states: NJ, PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, MO, KS, OK, TX, NM, CO, UT, NV, and CA! We plan on keeping everyone up to date through weekly youtube videos and Instagram posts as we go through the route. - Nick

Nice video, looks like a great adventure. Doesn’t look like AZ is on your list, but if by chance you wind up going through Page, Az., (northern border @ Lake Powell) I’ll offer up my shop for maintenance work. I have a fair inventory of spare parts also if in need.

I strongly suggest you get two tail/brake lights installed, along with turn signals and emergency flashers. Also, if you are not already a member, join MAFCA or MARC and buy one of their membeship rosters and tuck it into your baggage. Good luck with your adventure!

The LED rear window brake light would be more visible and easier to install.

Nsieber - It sounds like if you're planning to end in LA, you'll be going through the Southern California desert during the hottest time of the year. If you keep us informed as to your itinerary, I could probably meet you somewhere and follow you (not in my Model A) just to make sure everything will be okay. If it's 110 - 115 degrees, you may not want to take too many chances. Just let me know.

My wife and I have done a bit of touring the the US but in a modern rented car. We have often spoken of doing it in a Model A, ideally with a group of American Model A enthusiasts for the camaraderie and local knowledge. We are well accustomed to travelling long distances in a Model A but that would take things to a new level. I envy you.

I live in Pasadena and have done a lot of touring in my Model A's crossing the desert in the heat of the day many times. Try to start out early in the morning or as we did in the old days, drive the desert at night.

Take extra water with you and take your time, you will be fine.
