Default Hand painted number on fire wall...1950 panel truck

My panel truck has the number 70 hand painted on the firewall...any ideas?...Ford inspector's number?...(I'm the second owner of the truck)...Thanks, Mark

Truck was bought new by the original owner...I'm the second owner...thinking it may be from FORD...

I think if it was factory it would be chalk, not paint. My 2¢.

I have an International with a big hand painted number on the firewall too The only one I recall on my 49 Merc truck is a date stamp on the driver side over the voltage regulator.

This is on my '50 Fordor. AFAIK the paint on the firewall is original. I don't think it's had to many owners....... Mark

That's grease pencil,my 1950 F1 has some numbers written on the bottom of the hood.

That is an inspectors mark that it's been checked before being shipped.

Found another inspection number under / near the driver's seat....number 76..."BINGO!"
