52Merc Brake Cylinders
I scratched away and tried to get the casting numbers off the 52 Mercury brake cylinders today. Not sure if I got them right but the master had "S-3070-0 2" on the side. Rear right had what appeared to be 8A 2192 if I read it right. Anybody here have access to the actual part numbers for these? I'll likely try Napa first but having the right casting numbers usually helps.

Re: 52Merc Brake Cylinders
Ralph,
This is what I found in the '49-'53 Chassis Parts Catalog. The following are PNs listed for the housings used on '52-'53 Mercury cars: Master Cylinder (less push rod): B2 2140-B Front L.H. wheel cylinder: AD 2062-A (1-1/8" dia.) Front R.H. wheel cylinder: AD 2061-A (1-1/8" dia.) Rear L.H. wheel cylinder: 8L 2262-A (15/16" dia.) Rear R.H. wheel cylinder: 8L 2261-A (15/16" dia.) Hope this helps, Howard |

Re: 52Merc Brake Cylinders
These are for the most part standard Bendix parts.
The last time I needed them for my '51, I went to NAPA, they looked it up in the catalog and had the two that I needed on the shelf. Giving them an out dated Ford part/casting number was useless.

Re: 52Merc Brake Cylinders
Ralph, sorry to confuse you and others. I don't have a Mercury but have the catalog to reference parts used to convert 8BA engines to earlier cars. Now that 51 Merc. has informed us that the information contained in the catalog is obsolete and the information I found in it is useless, I will no longer use the information in posts that may confuse other Barners.

Re: 52Merc Brake Cylinders
Thanks for the info so far. Howard, your master cylinder number compares with Macs. Not the wheel cylinders though. Robz I will keep your master cylinder offer in mind as an option if Napa can not come up with a reasonable one here. Depending on your location, sometimes shipping cross border can be a problem , plus our 70 cent Cdn dollar hurts buying power.
