1933/34 hood bumper locations
I stumbled upon this 1933/34 hood bumper set. Does anyone know of a diagram that shows where these go. Can't see any remnants on my car, long since dissolved into history. Thanks

Re: 1933/34 hood bumper locations
Of the four shown in the illustration, the top two go on lower rear corners of the hood sides and the lower two on the top of the front fender aprons on little tabs riveted to the tops of the front fender aprons.

On my 33 the top two go on the front corner of the hood sides, not the rear corner. There should be a little hole in the sheet metal there.

Re: 1933/34 hood bumper locations
Like Jim said, Large ones rivet to front lower corners. The other two go in holes that are on the top edge of fender aprons for hood to set against. Then two round ones you don't have in that picture that go in the lower cowl just below the rear hood latch. The ( two on each side ) ones on the fender apron attach a couple different ways you can see in the V8 club 34 ford book. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Shop.cfm?id=17&pid=2

Thanks for the correction. I must have been thinking of a '32 hood. Sorry for the confusion.

The ones on the corner of the hood go on the inside - in other words you only see the rivet head and the "outline" part of the rubber from the outside.

I believe the bumpers that are on the cowl are 33 only.

I never seen them on a 34 unless you installed them!

This is an original car, I also had to cut them off my car that sat since 1939.

The photo below is of the lower cowl of a '34 roadster I used to have with the requisite hole for the rubber bumper. I'm pretty sure that the other five '34s I've had over the years all had the same holes (and bumpers where not removed).

Leave'em off your nicely painted car and let us know how that works for you.

Re: 1933/34 hood bumper locations
Thanks gentlemen...I am learning things all the time..But that is easy considering, I knew nothing when I started working on this car. Just learned a month ago that there are rubber bumpers for brake and clutch pedals, rubber gasket around the fuel tank neck, and now rubber bumpers for the hood.

And don't forget the bumpers on doors and inside garnish molding to keep the glass from rattling.

Re: 1933/34 hood bumper locations
The lower bumpers on the 33 inner fender panels (round) are not the same as the bumpers for the later 34 and although their location is similar the 33 bumpers mount on small brackets. The kit you pictured has the later 34 inner fender bumpers.
