Default 32 panel delivery serial number location

Can you see the serial number stamped on the top of the frame without removing anything on a 32 panel. Did the commercial vehicles get stamped different?

As far as I know they were stamped in the same areas.Without removing the body you "should " see numbers stamped on top the frame at the steering box location.

Does the fender cover the top of the frame.

That's where I found mine on my 39 1 ton (photo attached)
Had to clean off several layers of paint to find it.

I failed to mention that on the '32 the fender lip sits on top the frame. In the space between the foot of the firewall and lip of the fender you might see the numbers. If your car had the original trans the number is also stamped on the bellhousing ,center top below the lip of the flange.David G hopefully might chime in and post a pic of those locations.

1932 model commercial vehicle frames were stamped differently than those used underneath passenger car bodies, but only to the extent of the number of times the engine number was stamped on the frame (once for commercial vehicles and trucks and three times for passenger cars).

While there are some minor variations given that the numbers were hand stamped your number should be at or just in front of the foot of the firewall on the left side close to the inner edge of the frame rail. The original webbing under the left front fender was notched to permit seeing the number without removing the fender and its webbing. But, despite the specific instructions from Dearborn of where to stamp the engine number, exceptions are not unheard of.

I'm going to look at one this weekend. I just want to make sure the title matches the frame. The trans could have been changed at some point.
