Try Charlie Yapp at: Secrets of Speed Society, he is friends with Roof's Grandson.
Maybe they know. |

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
Not many - very desirable but Model T guys are cheap so its easy to sell, maybe valued similar to a rare Shelby Weber FE intake for example. In other words, you have to find the right guy to get top dollar.

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
That's a great find. Although these 16 valve heads do come up for sale from time to time, you rarely see them complete. Original intake and exhaust manifolds are virtually impossible to find. That Master barrel valve carburetor is also desirable and valuable.

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
I have not really seen people being cheap when it come to speed parts, even T speed guys so I would expect you should get a fairly good price, maybe in the 3-5000$ range or more. I for sure would start pricing it in the or more end of things after doing do diligence on what comp set have sold for. I would suggest getting it cleaned and magnfluxed for the best price.

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
It is the Type A, first of 3 basic designs.
Type B has 2 intake ports in the side of the head and 8 exhaust ports on the top( one for each exhaust valve). Type C featured 4 intake ports on the side of the head and 4 exhaust ports on the other side. |

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
Hope you find a use for it rather then just sitting on a shelf.

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
I don't have any T's yet just two A's. I found out this head was made by Laurel motors between 1919-1925. It was a hard head to tune and had leaks because of the pushrods going through the intake out of the head.

Re: RM Roof 16 valve head
Seems to me in my little gay cells reading or seeing something about this issue. For some reason I recall maybe that sleeves were installed around the valve stem to prevent this. I could be wrong.
