I have been running tubeless radials on '35 Ford wires for years. Tubeless tires by nature are safer than tubed tires due to the fact that they are basically self sealing. If you get a nail or screw in a tubeless tire it will run practically forever. Get a nail in a tubed tire and the tube wants to do just what a balloon will do when poked with a nail! They want to pop! I have actually run a screw into a tubeless tire on a circle track car to stop a leak for the night and forgot about it and ran it for several weeks before remembering it. Main difference is the '35 wheels do not have a safety bead to help keep the tire on in case of a flat. Well,....it doesn't have a safety bead when it has a bias ply tire and tube on it either!
BTW, I run tubeless on my '40 Ford and my '51 Fords and my '36 Dodge pickup and anything else I am able to.

Running 16's you need to use the spacers sold by several dealers for the wheel to sit correctly on the Model A drum. The A wheel was never designed for the lug area to sit on the drum, there are several points of contact but the lug holes are not one of them.

Thanks railcarmover, but California is a too far to have those wheels and tires shipped from. A set of those wheels found me, and local too. Thanks for all the replies..........AL.

Nice Al,they are plentiful..these are cheap.Enjoy. The reason they were so popular back in the late 30's and 40's was due to two things..tire availability and RIDE.bigger foot print means better braking and a smoother ride,modern radials add to the benefits,Walmart has Goodyear made Douglas 205/70r16's at 52 bucks a pop..total diameter close to stock..

Like the model a wheel,the 1935 16" ford wire is lug centric,meaning the lug studs center the wheel.The clamping force is applied by the lugs on the pressed bosses shown in the picture seat the wheel correctly to the drum,no spacers needed..later wheels,like 1940 'smoothies' need a spacer
