Default Rotten Rotor from Rotorville!

Here is an interesting one. Has anyone ever come across this before?

I came across that #2 cylinder was not firing. Exchange plugs, distributor cap, metal wires, and still the same issue.

All dist bumps were at .025.

I changed the rotor and they all fired. I didn't believe it so I installed the old rotor again and #2 was still dead. Went back to the new rotor and they all fired.

How is it possible that a rotor could always pick one node not to fire.

Confused in Rotorville

Try a new cap; swap plugs/brass plug contacts?

He said he swapped all of those before trying the rotor.

Look at the orientation of the rotor. Swap back and forth to see if the brass arms point in different directions. This is the only thing I can think of.

Soooo what's the gap between rotors and body, my guess old one is a wider gap.

Check the points gap on each lobe to make sure the whole 4 are opening evenly. Sometimes replacement stuff in the 70's wasn't made that well.
