Seatbelt Question
I was looking at seatbelts on Mikes and from the add below I take it that one belt per seat. Is this right? It seems one belt per person would be the way to go to me. Thanks for the comments.
Ron We now have tan seat belts available. Please order A26700 separately for the "L" Bracket for mounting your seat belts. These belts are 74" long. One belt does one seat. Don't forget, we still have black A26670 belts or gray A26680 as well. |

Re: Seatbelt Question
My advise would be to skip macs. They are several problems with them.
I got my seatbelts from Juliano’s. There are no provisions for belts,so you will have to fabricate mounts and supports. My Tudor. John

Re: Seatbelt Question
I bought mine from Speedway Motors. The belts that I put in the front have plastic keepers that hold the belt upright between the seats. I had to have the belts for the rear seat shortened by an upholsterer because they would wrap almost all the way around my grandkids.
I have heard good things about Juliano's though. I might go there first. There are articles online from different people who have added belts to Model A's so you can find lots of ideas. |

Re: Seatbelt Question
The add posted above was for Mikes. I will take a look at Juliano’s so thank you.
Would my install be any different in a Phaeton vs a closed car? I really need to get belts soon...... with an open car I feel flying out even in a minor accident is possible. Ron |

Re: Seatbelt Question
The attached article describes how I installed seat belts in the front seats of my Victoria. The company I obtained the belts and some of the mounting hardware from is called Buckle up and they are located in Fullerton, California. They specialize in installations for older cars that did not deliver with seat belts. This company has conducted a number of seminars for local Model A clubs, as well as other car clubs.

Just remember every time we lose a supplier our hobby is the loser. Please tells us your experience with Macs.

Re: Seatbelt Question
Is there a standard size (length) for seat belts in a Model A?

I think your right. My Phaeton has two fixed bench seats so it never crossed my mind to think of bucket seats. Well keep the comments coming. Seat belts are very important and I would love hear about your experiences and from who you purchased from. Would really like to hear from someone who put seatbelts in a Phaeton. At this time I am not sure if my car is the same as the closed cars when it comes to seatbelts. Ron |

Re: Seatbelt Question
I’ve read that belts are good for keeping you in if the door flies open in a turn.

Re: Seatbelt Question
I think the overall concept for bench seat belts tends to be similar across the different models. You take the seats out. You find some spots where bolts go through to the frame. You upgrade those bolts to be longer and stronger. Then you attach a transverse length of angle iron or some other structural steel to those bolts, under or behind the seats (this provides a spot to attach buckles in the middle of the car). Then you mount belts to that steel. Then you put the seats back in. That's how I did it in the coupe anyway.

Here's the video I did for the coupe belts. Might give you a couple ideas.

Re: Seatbelt Question
Mister moose. Those are the retractible model. Short middle belts and retactable side belts.
