Russell Speed Bleeders Part Numbers

I have looked all over their web site, but I can't find item part numbers for older cars. Does anyone know the part number(s) for my '48 F-1? These are the new self-energizing brakes as used on trucks from '48 up and cars from '49 up. Any help will be appreciated!

If you can't find Russell, Dorman also makes them. My local parts store had them. Two to a pack, $13 and change.

Virtually all Ford Bendix brakes use a 3/8-24 thread bleeder.

I put a set on my '51 and they work great. However, they are too long to be installed on the front without loosening the wheel cylinder so you can wiggle them in. Once installed, there is just enough room to use them.

Bringing this back up for a clarification.
So will this same speed bleeder also work for the passenger car, i.e. a 1948 Super Deluxe coupe??


Nevermind, the answer is yes, I went ahead and crawled under there and pulled one out. They are 3/8 24.

Pretty sure the answer is YES. backing plates are almost the same. Read this thread. Thread size is 3/8-24. Length varies.
I used them on my 1940. See post #12.

Just curious, what do backing plates have to do with the thread size of the speed bleeders.

Russell Speed Bleeders...... have them on a couple of cars.
Stay away from the Earl's Solo-Bleeds..... they suck. I've had them fail
internally, leaving parts inside the caliper. I have a pair on my desk that I want to have a
discussion with Holley about, but no SEMA this year to visit their booth.

Anyone happen to know the size for a 42-48 ford car? my car is a 36 but I was told by Boling bros I have 42-48 drums on the front (pic attached) odd thing IS I just bleed all 4 wheels and the front two both took a 10mm wrench (I checked several times, bleeders were not rounded or anything) to bleed ???

My back were 7/16 see pic, assume those are "Lincoln style" rear drums? (Boling brothers item minus those silly spacers which are long gone!)

I just installed the Dorman equivalent(12701) of the Russel speed bleeders on my 48. The threads are indeed 3/8 24 but I also noticed that the new bleeders had a smaller hex size than the Ford part. I guess it was 10 MM, I don't know because I managed to use a 3/8 wrench even though it was loose.

So I was going to try some Dorman 12701, saw some on ebay for $12 for a pair but noticed Amazon has the Russell equivalent for $15 for a pair shipped, say made in the usa too!

I bought mine at Advance Auto Parts $13 a pair and don't have to wait on shipping.
