1949 ford f1 brakes
Restoring my f1, are the frond and rear brake linings the same on the ford f1?
Also does the longer brake shoe go towards the front of the drum or the rear, I forget it's been awhile. Thanks, Mike |

Re: 1949 ford f1 brakes
Large shoe to the rear, f1 uses Bendix brakes and Bendix brakes have the longer shoe to the rear. I'm not sure if front and rear brakes use the same shoes, LOL, I have only worked on the fronts!
Looks like there is a width difference 2 inch wide in the front and 1 3/4 inch in the rear, but again, I'm just reading a chart! Last edited by JSeery; 10-15-2020 at 08:26 PM. |

That is correct 2" front and 1-3/4" rear.
