Default A thousand-dollar pocket watch?

Did I read that right? The "Henry Ford Pocket Watch" costs $1000?

Here is a link to the Shinola $1000 "Henry Ford Pocket Watch"

Each of the 1,000 has a price of $1,000, available October 24, 2014, which also gains the owner membership in Shinola’s own collectors club, The Foundry. Pocket watches are a unique market of their own, so it is intriguing that Shinola went this route.

anything sold as a collectable will never be a collectable. Buy a real antique pocket watch for a grand and in 5 or 10 years it'll be worth at least that much. This one here? not so much.

When they don't sell enough of them, they'll just remove the Ford signature and replace with Chevy or Studebaker

I have a real Studebaker pocket watch and didn't pay that much.

I need to buy one because I'm running out of time.

I have the watch my grandmother gave my grandfather when they were married. There is no money I would accept for the watch.

Click on the link "Are all your products made in America?" It gives the origin of the components.
