No star ahead of VIN 1932
I have been looking at some original frames from 1932 and referring to the Ford books that don`t seem to help. I am finding that a couple B and 18 beginning VIN stampings don`t have the typical star but at the very beginning and end, there is an arrow pointing up and then following the vin the arrow points down. Both are very early short vins. What say you?

Re: No star ahead of VIN 1932
With the engine numbers being stamped by multiple employees at each of 31 different assembly plants and 19 outside of the U.S., variations in how and where they were stamped and what stamps were used would be inevitable, despite the clear instructions from Dearborn as to how it was to be done. There are plenty of low engine-number-stamped frames that follow the Dearborn instructions utilizing the star stamp as well as exceptions.

Re: No star ahead of VIN 1932
Yes that seems like a reasonable assumption, with some frames minus one or more of the three designated stampings. I know that I have a passage somewhere that shows and describes later stampings to stop forgeries. I absolutely can`t find it. Anyone know where that info is located. Thanks to all.
