Side Curtains ('28 Open Pickup)

1. Can someone please post photos of properly installed side curtains (preferably open cab pickup). Am particularly interested in the position of the weather strip over the door side curtain (i.e. does it go inside or outside of the door curtain).

2. Would also appreciate a close-up photo of the female ‘socket’ (mounted on the side curtain material that accepts the studs on the windshield stanchions. I believe the original may have ‘lift the dot’ stamped on the face.

3. The rear edge of the rear 1/4 side curtain fastens to the top material with what I believe is a Cinch 63312 single stud which has been crimped to a backing plate (see photos). This seems to have a rather unfinished appearance … should there be a finishing ‘button’ of some sort to cover the crimped area? If so, would appreciate a close-up photo and name of a source/part #.

Chuck- The weather strip has to go over the door on the inside, otherwise you would not be able to open an close the door with the side curtain up. 2. The female socket for the early cars did not have any markings on them except pull on some but most were just plain .The sockets with Lift the Dot were later products. 3. I am unable to comment on this item at this time but will look at my 30 std roadster to see how it is done. Ron.

Here is an INSIDE view of an original side curtain used on both the 35-A and 76-A (courtesy of Don Turley). The top "strip" was originally riveted to the inside top of the door curtain.



This is a NOS '30 Roadster curtain (outside view). The rivet is still present but the flap or strip is missing.

Most of my original curtains have a couple that say "PULL" and no dot. The remainder of the fasteners on each curtain have no markings on the outside whatsoever.

I believe the top rear fastener of the rear side curtain is correct as shown.

also looks like some rivets at the lower corner of the 'pocket' for the metal rods and at the top corners of the door latch flap. suggestions as to where i can find similar rivets?
