Transmission Gear ratios
Les Andrews book shows 2nd gear as: 6.9:1
Is that the effective final drive ratio when run through the standard 3.78 differential? What is actual tooth count of the second gear set? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Transmission Gear ratios
I think there is a typo somewhere. 6.9 is so high you would be going about 2mph.

Re: Transmission Gear ratios
1st gear - 3.12:1; 2nd gear - 1.85:1; high gear 1:1. Multiply that times the rear end ratio to find the final-drive ratio.

Quote:
1.85 * 3.78 = 6.99 So closer to 7.0, actually.
