Default Engine rebuilder in Orlando area?

Anyone have recommendations for a engine re-builder shop near Orlando? I want to have my original block rebuilt if it's re-buildable. It's in very rust condition, bored out .125 oversize and may not be worth it.

I've had a local shop look at it and they don't even want to try to clean it up (boil it out & shot-peen it.) machinist felt there was too much pitting on the deck and on the valve seats.

I know that the valve seats can be inserted & plan on having that done; is it possible to have seat inserts installed that are larger than the standard available to compensate for the rusted iron? How about valve guide bores, are there oversize guides available, perhaps in the 'modern' style?

Anyway, I'm looking for someone who's experienced with A engines in the Orlando area or near Brooksville, north of Tampa.
Thanks!

Call Jerry's Model A Store in Casselberry. Talk to Jerry Isben 407-695-8911.
He has a man named Doug that he has do all his engines. Tell him Ken Smart sent you. Jerry is a good guy and I hear Doug builds a good model A engine.
Thanks and good luck.

I agree call Jerry. Great guy very helpful. Of course other options are Antique Engine in IL, and Schwalms in PA. They will exchange an engine for you and have heard of them selling you a block so you don't have to ship yours to them.

Rich Falluca in Skokie, IL (Antique Engines) ships engines anywhere and will sell one to you without an exchange. He just finished an overhaul for me (my third from Rich) and I am tickled with the results. His insert bearing conversion is slick. I am sure there must be someone in a local Model A club who has the ability to "adjust" the engine number to meet your needs.

If the machine shop said that your block was too far gone then I would suggest finding a different rebuildable block. A block can always be restamped and there are ways of concealing the original number by peening the casting and then restamping rather than grinding off the numbers and making it obvious.

We do this on occasion when a customer asks to restamp the block. If you didn't know it was done then you'd think it was original.

Jerry uses Doug in Vero Beach. I live in Vero and had Doug do mine. Very pleased with the results. Email me and I will fill you in.

Too bad I am in NC. I don't turn any motor down unless it is total krap.

I've got a 28 that would be ready to ship in a few days, I'm in north west ohio or anyone looking for a new motor, short block or complete, call R-D engines @ 567-207 8799. Also have a Diamond block that will be ready soon.
