Exclamation Flathead 6 "G" model motor mount replacement

So I need advice.. I just got two NOS six cylinder motor mounts from Fred at Southside Obsolete. Fred messaged me to tell me that the repair manuals DO NOT show the standard V8 donuts and bolts underneath the mount where it attaches to the frame rails. Well, I checked today, and there IS indeed rubber donuts with the bolts attaching the mounts to the frame rails.. Could whoever had this car before put them in as an extra cushioning measure? Also, I looks that if I install the new mounts without these donuts, the motor may be lowered by a half inch and it looks like the exhaust pipe will then hit the forward crossmember... Just wondering what I should do before I start wrenching..
One last thing, would it be ok to use a block of wood alongside the oil pan to lift the motor to remove the mounts or should I use a chain with hangers to a coupe of headbolts? Any tips would be nice... I've changed motor mounts in newer cars.. but never a flathead...

I, myself would leave the rubber donuts to cushion engine vibration. In fact dont recall any motors without them, though i dont know everything

Ok... As I was getting ready to replace the mounts.. I stopped by Early Ford Store to see Mike in San Dimas.. I thought I might need those V8 style donuts/bolts to go under the bracket.. WAY TOO MUCH material.. but in the box with just the rubber donut/pads were these low profile rubber discs/biscuits.. Sorry I didn't take a photo.. Mike said he didn't know what they were for.. they looked identical to one of the pads under my motor mounts...

I replaced the mounts today.. and sure enough these discs were perfect! Oh and today starts day 1 of my 56th year (55th birthday)!

My 47 did not have the rubber donuts. i believe somone has added those. The original 6cyl mount has the cushion built into it.

Ok... so with the new motor mounts the driveline shimmy is diminished.. So I know I need to replace the transmission mount (rubber around is shot).. My question, without replacing the whole mount, can I replace the two donut cushioned bolts on each side as a temporary fix?.. Sometime in the Fall; I plan to R&R the transmission and replace the whole mount but just want to get the driveline shimmy under control until I can replace everything.. I know it is like a very stop-gap measure but that's why I am asking for advice..
