So what is the question?

Oldsmobile had water injection to keep the cylinder temp low in the 60s
We used it to get an unfair advantage when drag racing at Conn drag way .
In fact it helped us to set a class record with a B modified Production Buick - but that is a different story.
In those days you were not going fast enough unless you were were bending the rules.
Rule bending was a lot of fun.

When I was in my teens, we used to notice how an engine ran better on a foggy night so we used to put a water soaked hessian bag around the air intake so that the air was very humid. That is pretty much the same thing as this clip shows. Not that we were anywhere near the first to do that. The father of my friend who did this with me said that those things were done before WWI.
Not very remarkable, if you ask me.

Turbocharged Corvairs used lower compression heads and a pressure retard diaphram on the distributor. None of my turbo Corvairs had detonation, but one sure would slip the clutch when the driveshaft seal leaked gear oil. The turbo sure gave some good boost.

I've seen a turbo on a Model A at the national meet a few years ago. Never got to meet the owner to ask questions though.

From an article on Autocar:

“The system works best on cars with an output of more than 80 kW (107 bhp) per litre,” Bosch global project manager Fabiana Piazza told Autocar.

Definitely not Model A!
