I was able to use '49-52 Chevy wheel centers because the car has an early Camaro 8-3/4" 10 bolt rear end with a hub to hub axle width of 54-1/4", which is the same tread width as the original 39 Plym.

Sometimes one must think outside of the box to achieve a completed project that gets the job done.

37cab, I went back and looked at the web site I mentioned, and could not find the wheel I had seen earlier. they have a wheel similar, but it is not a wide five center. It is not like the picture I saw in the old magazine. sorry if I sent you on a wild goose chase, -- Jim

I have found that wheel centers and shells are much harder (if not impossible) to find these days.

Talking about "optical collisions". Look at those two photos closely. The ship is in the center of the hubcap on the overall picture of the car but in the close up picture the ship is off to one edge of the hubcap and the hubcap looks like it has a huge dent in it.

Go figger.

NEVER MIND. I just realized the picture is from a different angle. Oh well, The angle of the dangle and all.

Counselor ....I OBJECT! Do you NOT see that the "ship" is ALSO "off to one edge of the hubcap" in the "overall picture"? Coop
