Default Middle of winter

As I sit here on a cold Sunday watching football I find myself wishing for warmer weather and my old Ford. Thought I would share a picture from warmer days. This is on old route 66 in Commerce Oklahoma. How about cheering a guy up with some shots of your old car out and about..

Here is a cheery one! When I first got my 68 Tornio. That photo just happened to be on my desk top.

Yeah.. I am in the corner of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Transplanted a few years back for early retirement. Guess I am spoiled but winters seem long and cold. Love it here but I sure do like me some warm weather.

Snowing pretty good here today. When I was in HS & collage all I wanted to do was get out of the cold climate! Now I perfer the cold to the heat. After several bouts of heat stroke I don't do well in the heat.

Mild here in Western Washington. Mid 40s to 50 or so. Went out on a date with the Mrs on Saturday and we drove the woodie wagon. With the mild weather I have been down in the shop after dinner playing with my cut down '30 AA doodlebug. This thing has been a blast and so easy to work on. It had been used in a shingle mill to skid logs. Hope these photos bring a smile to your face. It's not like we never get snow here, but we won't this year because I recently fabricated a snow plow set up for my old case skidsteer........

Now, don't let the snow get you down. Unless you are in this spot. Then, you can only wait for the airdrop or spring.

GB, how does you winch drive shaft get power when it is so much higher than the PTO on the transmission?

cool doodlebug. I have a pto unit and levers for my truck. Pto runs a hydrophilic box I'm guessing? Not sure if that's the way to go or dropping a 3sp in.

Neat bug. like it

Big roller chain coming up through the floorboards off the pto. then into the three speed tranny for the winch. It has 3 speeds fwd and neutral and reverse.. Been pulling junk outa the weeds with it this morning. Every morning when my wife goes to work, my mantra is... I'm gonna go to work in the cabinet shop..... But alas the doodlebug siren draws me in........ Yesterday I wired up a 12 v yellow flashing light so I can go like a tractor down the road and visit my buddies, and yes I have the 'slow moving vehicle triangle' as well.

I live in the Chicago area--cold weather don't stop me from driving my 1937 Ford. If there is no snow on the ground or salt on the roads, I will drive my Ford. The coldest temp I drove my 1937 Ford was about 25 degrees. No heater. Here I am after driving my Ford on Christmas day 2018.
