Default Junk parts

Out here tonight rebuilding a Lincoln V12 distributor for a customer. He bought these points from one of the vendors and they are just junk. They charge upward to $50 for them and they ain't even close. The springs are so long they touch the hold down screws and the points don't hit square. Just can't buy quality parts anymore.

Wow $50. Any word of who took his money? Sure can't see contributing to them.

Those aren't even close to being usable . . . I can't believe how they align. My guess - they're not for a Lincoln V12 - more like V8 points maybe???

No, They are V12 points. The stationary side is the only difference. The movable side works on V12s or V8s.

With a lot of bending and fitting and relocating the screw holes in the too long springs I've got them useable. I'll strobe it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Ken, It seems that perseverance has paid off. I can't believe that the cost of Points these days are around $50.
Is that the going price for V8 Points also?

It's getting hard to find quality points whether they be V8 or 12. All this off shore stuff is just crap. V8 points can be had for about half of the cost of V12 . I try to find NOS when I can. We'll see how it goes when I strobe them. That will tell if it was worth the effort.
