Default 1932 Ford horn needing to make it 12 volt

Does anyone know a company that can make my 6 volt horn 12 volts?
Thank you,
Guy

There is a device in the Model a catalogue that you place inside the cover on your horn to make this happen.

Maybe, maybe not if his horn is the later '32 vibrator type and not the early motor-driven type like Model A horns.

I have ran the 6 volt horn on several deuces that were 12 volt with no problems. Maybe because I don't honk them very often I've been lucky?

I ran my 32 Spartan on 12 for many years with no complaint. I screwed the tension down so it would not overspeed. Later I put a beep horn on it.I had found a cheap aftermarket horn somewhere and the diameter and hole pattern were perfect. I put it on to stop torturing the Spartan. The beep replacement would have also fit in the Spartan.
As an a aside, the Spartan was vicious if you did not know how to blow it. It blew by grounding at the button on the wheel. No relay. I was running a Superior chrome wheel with the chrome button. You could not blow it and have your hand on both the button and the wheel. The induction voltage was tremendous. People would lean in and blow the horn at shows. They never did it twice.

I'm using an external voltage reducer on my sparton 32 horn, works well and sounds like it should

Hi,

I converted to 12volt and looked into various options. I bought a resistor but
didn't like the idea of the heat from it although the horn isn't used that often
to really be a problem. I found the post below and added a shunt wire to my
horn which bypasses one of the horn coils, simple and reversible. It works
great.
