Default 1935 Ford Interior wood.

My 1935 cabriolet has been on the road for nearly 15 years, I have just had the interior done and my old top looks shabby now so I am contemplating having it re done.
My car had been messed about with be original owner who had extended the cockpit to accommodate a small rear seat. The cockpit was returned to original proportions.
I had to make modifications on top mechanism etc.to return it to original spec so I did not have a lot of original stuff to go with.

Point of this ramble is: should there be any wood that wraps round the rear of the cockpit to accommodate fixings, etc for the convertible top or is everything just fixed through the sheet metal?

Hope this makes sense.
Thanks in advance.
Gordon.

there should be a channel piece of steel that runs around the back and inside the channel is a tack strip. The tack strip can be made from thin plywood or you can buy a plastic type tack strip from the V-8 parts vendors. The channel is fixed to a piece of flat steel that sits at an angle to the body. Hopefully someone can show a photo of how this looks.
