Default Question on Trailering home

The top on this Sport Coupe was redone back in 1985, been garage kept ever since, a little concerned about it durability since I'll be open trailering thru a lot of rain today so am planing to wrap with stretch wrap, any one had any issues with using this, think I saw something about it in another thread, know to stay away from a tarp

Not just rain but speed also will adversely affect your top on an open trailer.

Wrap it good. I would also use packing tape after you shrink wrap it. Don’t take any chances. A new correct top for a Sport Coupe is not cheap.

Keep checking on the car as you drive. Any changes stop to correct as soon as possible. It doesn’t take much to destroy a top.

Good luck and enjoy you car. Sport Coupes are great.

Shrink wrap works well on old cars.I towed quite a few old cars from N.H. to Florida in the 70;s,and later hauled dozens of boats.Mostly shrink wrapped. It's not the speed or rain, after all that car has to drive on it's own at those speeds, but it can be the wind buffeting from the tow vehicle.I tow now with a 96 Dodge truck with a flatbed, the wind buffeting with that truck seems to happen after the cargo.Another thing to look for with an A are the floorboards.Make sure they are fastened down or weighted.I saw the top billowing up on a coupe once,I stopped, the floorboards had blown up,and were letting the wind in.I had to cut the wrap and redo it after I put some rocks on the floorboards.
