Default 35 Grille

Xmas came early, got a new grille for the cabriolet.
After trying to fix up my original bashed brittle and twisted original piece to no avail, trying to make an early (argentinan?) repro fit, not even close, getting nothing back for my money from someone in California for a very good original, I sold a kidney and my first born child and stumped up for one of the Australian repros.
It arrived on Sunday, in bare metal and it is a lovely piece of work, I am really happy with it, out the box it fits well, I have to lay radiator back now for hood to fit, never having had a good fitting grille it was not possible to set the rad to firewall distance until now.
Only weird thing is the repro hood emblem is a very poor fit, different contour, I am hoping to borrow an original to work out what to do, pretty sure it is the emblem that is at fault. Will let you know, in the mean time it is good to have restored a smile to the car (and me).

I know of 3 people here in Australia that bought these grilles a couple years ago and all had to do a ^&%$## amount of work to get these grilles straight. Nice to know that they have improved the quality and fit.

I've seen early sample stampings of these grilles displayed by CW Moss at several car shows. According to Moss, they are being made by Resurrection Panels in Australia. They looked very correct and well made to me. They are supposed to be one piece drawn, CNC laser cut, spec'd to factory blueprint, triple chrome plated, and sold with a money back guarantee. I have been trying to find out how well they actually fit and look after installed. When you get everything sorted out with your installation, could you please give us a final report? Also, what was the cost not including shipping? Thanks for posting.

Grille is bare steel, not sure about the emblem hole, my original was so messed up and my other repro had no hole. I will check cost later (frightened to look at receipt, ask my wife when the credit card statement lands on the doorstep)
The dealers for this item in the US can be found at:

Will keep you posted on progress.

The price shown on http://www.nostalgiagrilles.com/ is $2200.00 for a chrome plated version. They also offer non plated/plain steel versions at a lower cost. The old (2005) CW Moss catalog that I have has a price tag of $2000 for their chrome plated version.

This 1935 Grille is the perfect addition to your Ford, as many 1935 Fords out there, cannot locate a Grille for their cherished ride, and make do with a 1936 one, But, now all is saved, and you can now purchase, the correct Grille for your project.
Really? Put a 36 grill on a 35? And this is from the manufacturer?

And when did the 35 grill become a replacement for the 33's?
