B head sample.
This is the first B head at my new iron foundry. The last foundry didn't have quality control so they had to go. Winfields, Thomas, and blocks are all slated to be cast.

Re: B head sample.
Looking good Tod. What will be the standard compression ratio? will spark plugs be tapped/sizes? and finally, cost?

Tod, excellent. Looks like you really nailed the crows foot combustion chamber.

Re: B head sample.
I picked this head up from the foundry today. It is very nice, especially for the first sample. They mentioned being very interested in sampling an engine block asap. I have quite a few Winfield heads and iron Thomas heads to make as well.

Re: B head sample.
I’m also ready when you get into production. I see that you cast. ‘C” into it. Since it’s higher compression might be more appropriate if it was “C+” ?h

Re: B head sample.
I was wondering how things were going. I was in for a B head, not sure now. whats stalling me out is how hard it is to get a water pump for a reasonable price for the B. should make a true B head that takes an A waterpump

Re: B head sample.
Tod, I noticed in a past thread that you have a Mazak in your shop. Just wondering if you use it to make this B head?

I'm not sure which Mazak you mean, but I am currently running all cylinder heads in my Toyoda Horizontal Machining Center. My new fixture design allows me to make heads with less set ups. I cut it from 3 to 2 set ups. In my new Mazak HMC I will be able to make blocks in 2 set ups as well. Tod |
