Default 1932 Ford Pickup

Good day All,

I recently acquired what I believe to be a 4 cylinder 1932 Ford closed cab pickup. It originated from Zimbabwe (Bulawayo).

Can you please assist me with what differentiates the '32 from the '33.

I will post pictures next week when I return home from vacation.

Many thanks in advance,
Andrew

The main thing would be the wheelbase, the 1933 will be 112” as compared to the ‘32 @ 106”. There are many smaller details, almost too numerous to mention.

A quick check would be the radiator shell and the front edges of the hood side panels. If they are exactly vertical then it is a '32; if the radiator shell has a slight slope rearward along with matching hood side panel front edges then it is either '33 or '34.

Another quickie would be the fuel tank. If it is under the seat, it is a '32; if it is under the bed in the rear of the truck, it is either a '33-'34.

The '32 frame has a K member in the center and the '33-'34 frames have X members. Of course my observation, and probably most of the others are based on US production.

Nice looking 32.

I like the long overhang on the 32s.

Your '32 looks to be in very good condition. Given where you indicated it originated, it likely was produced by Ford of Canada.

Andrew,
Nice looking truck! What is the tan car next to it in the photo with the rumble seat step?

The photo is a bit of a teaser.

Many thanks All for your advice,

It is greatly appreciated.

My pickup is complete and original, which is how it will remain.

I have attached pictures of my '34s, which share space in my shed with my '32 and Model As.

All the best,
Andrew
