Default He calls himself "papanick."

Those of you who are looking for a rebuilt speedometer may have read his many posts here on the Barn's "For Sale" Section.

Compared to other rebuilders, "papanick" offers some nice prices on his rebuilts.

I you are like me, there was a little doubt as to the workmanship and delivery, not to mention what kind of luck you would have negotiating with Papa.

I can assure you that he will do whatever is necessary to converse with you by email to answer and questions you may have. You will actually be surprised how involved Papa gets.

We did negotiate. He did not get nasty, and we arrived at a decent price for both of us including shipping to Iowa.

Came today. It's a really nice looking speedometer. New bezel; new screws; new glass and all new numbers. Has what he calls "speed test" which is a total "function" test.. If I understand what he explained to me.

Would highly recommend papanick. (No, not his Son, nor am I connected to him in any way..)

Larry

Nice to hear good stories like that and know that decent folks are still out there.

I have one of "PapaNick's" speedometers in my pickup. Works great!

His real name is Leonard Nichols. I'll bet his grandkids had something to do with "papa.."

He did two for me. One works great, the other is out 20 mph at 40. No response! Wayne

Just got mine back from Papa Nick.
Looks like new, have it installed but I don't have the front end back together yet, soon, very soon.
It's not Spring yet...but I can almost see it here.

He repaired two of mine. Quick and no problems. I'd use his service again in a heartbeat.

No repair business in demand ever failed when the customer is highly respected .......... and ......."All Good News" in "any" Model A repair business travels fast.

My malfunctioning speedometer, (with a yellow number background and scratched numbers) was bouncing from 0 to 50 at 15 mph with a new speedometer cable until "Papa-nick" returned it looking & working like "new" in a jiffy ...... far less expensive than getting a speeding ticket without a Model A speedometer.

I always tell the wife that if I ever get a speeding ticket in the Model A, I'm going to hang it on the wall like a trophy!
