Default 1947 ford monarch trunk latch

For no particular reason the trunk latch didn't work. Didn't look good. The solution was to remove seat go through trunk. Bad news trunk was full of all the things you normally keep in the car plus whatever you take to outdoor show lawn chairs etc..
So cut the press board remove can't move tire because of stuff in trunk. The rest you need a helper. Unbolt the hinges and have the helper get ready to catch the trunk lid. When the hinges are unbolted the arms pop the lid Caution make sure the bumper guards are padded as the lid will make contact. Unbolt the two arms lift off the lid remove the latch mechanism.
The cause of my trouble was the cotter pin in the latch that makes connection with handle and latch broke. We made a new pin out of a hard steel bolt and pined the end.
Sure hope you never have to do this might want to check your latch and cotter pin. Can save you a pain in the butt
