Fan Clearance from Water Pump
The attached pictures show the top clearance of the fan to the water pump housing and the bottom of the fan clearance to the water pump housing. Should the clearance be even all around. I think it is rubbing on the housing. What is the cause of this? Water pump shaft or fan installation? Thanks in advance.

Re: Fan Clearance from Water Pump
Usually this is a problem with the new leakless water pump housings, but yours looks older. I would check your fan nut in this case and check the keyway if you can to make sure it is in good shape and the key is still there.

Aluminum fan? Not accurate reproduction of an original.
Steel original would be dimensionally more correct imho. Housing clearance is also affected by where impeller is placed. |

Its an aluminum. Also just notice that it talks about filing the water pump housing? See attached. Should I be looking for a different fan?
