1936 Steering Box and Bearings
City:
Concord
State:
NH
Price:
$100
Fresh bearings and cups for an early worm shaft, including the upper cup B-3553. All are NOS except the lower cup (3552), which is a relatively new Timkin USA. The first picture is showing the steering box, but please note that the worm and sector are essentially junk. The second picture shows the bearings and cups, and also included is a used, but excellent, compression washer for the upper cup. The last picture is a close-up of the upper cup, showing part number B-3553.
I accumulated all new steering parts to build a "new" steering box over a few years,, but last year relinquished the NOS worm shaft and sector to a gentleman Fordbarner who desperately wanted to get his original steering mechanism in top working order. In the mean time, I had a machinist dress the roughness from the bearing races on my original steering shaft, which immediately solved my hard-steering problem. Therefore, I no longer need the bearings shown here. Thank you, James |
