Re: spark plug recommendation needed
Good input group, am gonna try some Champion W16Y plugs, slightly hotter than the 3X's I gather. The Champion W89D or 589/W89D appears to be a good option also.
Here is a link to some general info: https://www.fordgarage.com/pages/bru...kplugnotes.htm |

Re: spark plug recommendation needed
As I said in post #5. That's why I'm going with modern plugs but NGK have just responded to an enquiry from me telling me that BP5E is not one of their numbers so I checked the plug I have again and guess what. BP5E is correct. Man, these companies can be frustrating!

As I indicated in an earlier post #18, Rock Auto has Champion W16Y for $6.77 each., Champion 3X for $29.79 each.

The plugs are made in Japan. NGK is a Japanese brand. They were my favourite when I was a kid using them in my motorcycles.

Re: spark plug recommendation needed
I found a seller on EBay selling four new Motorcraft TT10 for $29.99 - $7.50 each, in other words. I'll let you know if they show up as advertised.

Re: spark plug recommendation needed
I think someone said these work well in Model A engines. Any truth to that?

Re: spark plug recommendation needed
JayJay,
Thanks for the info re Motorcraft TT10 Plugs. I have a few extra sets, so I am well supplied. I am sad to see these plugs are no longer available.

Re: spark plug recommendation needed
I use W18 Champions in my car. They were recommended by a now deceased FordBarn'r: Purdy Swof. I believe that is how he spelled his "handle". The W18's are the modern version of the 3X plugs so I have been told.
