Default Ford Script battery case for 6 volt Optima

Is anyone making Ford Script 6 Volt battery cases for the 6 volt Optima currently? Look around the web and archives without finding any now available.

New Optima's will not fit in old case without cutting bottom out. I have one if you can use it and pay shipping.

These Ford Script Optima Cases are made in Australia by a friend and fellow Early Ford V8 Club of America member. I know that he has sold them to early Ford V8ers in the USA. Please contact me if you want his email address.

How do these work in the 36 and earlier battery location under the floor boards?

You need to make sure which height and marking of a battery case you need, IF you intend to use this battery in a vehicle intended to be point judged on a concourse/show field.
Not sure of the exact range of years here, but the earlier years require a 2LF case, while the later years require a 2HF case, and the markings/logos, and terminal locations, can be different among the years requiring a 2LF case. Not sure about the 2HF regarding their correct markings and terminals.

☆Note/ps....the new/latest 6V Red Top Optima's will NOT fit in a 2LF case unless the bottom foot print of the battery is cut out of the bottom of case, and the complete battery mounted on a plastic tray to hide the bottom of the Optima.
The new/latest 6V Red Top Optima's WILL fit in a 2HF case as it is now being produced by Restoration Battery at a price of ~$300.00

The battery shown in mercman photo looks like it is made out of metal on the inside it also looks like an old reproduction 32 to 36 battery that I have. If it is metal you should be able to easily cut the bottom out and building a pocket to hold a optim battery using the battery frame itself to hold the optim battery in the frame of the battery box under the floor boards. Just an idea that I am thinking about.

I believe what Michael is showing would be considered equivalent to a 2HF size battery. Too tall to normally fit under the floorboard of a '35-'36 Ford pass car, in its stock battery box, unless you use a cover that's a bit higher than the stock cover, designed, made and sold by Larry Cossar.

This is John's 1946 Mercury that is fitted with an Optima Battery Case to conceal the Optima Battery. When other people saw it, they wanted one, so John has been making them. They were originally designed for this type of car that has the Battery Carrier under the Hood. I am not sure if they would fit the under the floor application of the earlier Ford V8's?

John hit the nail on the head. The easiest solution is to use Larry Cossars covers or slightly modify your original. In a 39-up it works great and rather budget friendly
