Default Cap and rotor

I was given a n.o.r.s. Holley cap and rotor not long ago , but am not sure what they fit. Looks like it may be Ford , but am not sure and have been unable to find anything on line to I.D. them as to the application.... they are in Blue and white boxes that say " Holley OEM Quality Service Parts " the Dist. cap # is 30-28 and the rotor # is 29-14. does anyone here know of a way to find out what these fit, or maybe have a book that may cross- reference them? or even better yet, does any body have an old Holley Ignition parts book? any help would be appreciated. by the way the cap is for an 8 cyl. Thanks, ---Jim

Jim,

I have an old Holley carb manual that also has Holley distributors in it. Unfortunatly it uses Holley part numbers, and not the catalogue numbers that you listed. All I can say is that the caps and rotors on Holley distributors are all the same from '55 thru '56. In '57, the caps changed, but the rotors are the same all the way up. Including 6 cylinders. The drawings they had looked a lot like the Ford made rotor too.

Sal, Thanks for taking the time to check them out. I am going to Anchorage tomorrow, my brother said he may have an old catalog, or may be able to I.D. it. may swing by where he works at the machine shop, they have a variety of engines and distributors there. we may be able to match it up. I would hate to just throw them away, even if they don't fit Ford, I could give them to some one else if I can find what they fit. Thanks again, Jim

hi Jim, My old Holley book shows the cap and rotor fit many/most of
the V/8 engines from '59 to '72 Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth with
stock point distributor.

Thanks Lanny, I appreciate that information. They will not fit anything I own , if that is the case, but I know a few fellows that can use them. Thanks again, ---Jim
