Where can I get a Winfield Carburetor rebuild kit? Barry Bowyers?

I've tried contacting 2 numbers for Barry Bowyer who I am told makes Winfield carb rebuild kits. And an email for someone I am told makes rebuild kits, but have not heard back. Does anyone know who or where I can purchase one or two of these? I tried to fire up my built Winfield banger It has a very nice unrestored S downdraft but it has been sitting for some time and it is leaking fuel from the top of the bowl. Pulled it apart and the gasket is disintegrated.

Any help would be great.

If you have a printer/scanner take the old gasket and make a copy of it. Draw in any missing parts. I found I can run paper board about the thickness of what is used in shirts and such through mine, the gasket for the bowl would be thinner anyway. Get some gasket stock the correct thickness and cut a square out. It comes rolled up so try and flatten it as much as possible. Fill in the areas of the copy of the gasket that you copied for your master. You will have a black on white copy of your gasket. Print a copy onto the gasket material and cut it out.
Or you could after filling in any missing parts rubber cement the copy to the gasket material then just cut it out.

Even easier to just put a light coating of grease (Lubriplate, maybe?) on the part, press it down on the gasket paper leaving an impression to trim to.

Good tip and I've done it this way a few times when I needed a gasket.

On a heavy duty part, like the tranny top, you can tap the sharp edge of the casting with the gasket held in place over it and cut the gasket out.

A couple of months back he put an add on ebay that was up for just a few days showing an increase in price but when I tried to contact him I had no luck !
A few years back I purchased some from the Stirum's (not too sure of spelling) I believe they are in the FAST index.
Barry was the only one that had new SR diaphragms in recent years. Northwest Speedster's would probably know of a source if there is one currently.

As per the attached quote, does anyone know if Barry's e-mail address from the fordgarage website ( [email protected] ) is still correct. I have so far been unsuccessful in contacting him. I need a rebuild kit for an SR BB, so need the diaphragm etc, which I believe he is the only person I get this from?? Unless someone else knows another source. Chief taught me the "FINE ART" of gasket cutting, using a TINY Ball Pein Hammer, TINY scissors, & QUALITY cardboard.
By the way, it's handy to buy inexpensive complete gasket sets, MINUS THE HEAD GASKET, to have miscellaneous gaskets on hand. (TIP# 781) I sold one gasket for enough to buy another set, I'm gonna' be RICH!

I bought a half dozen gasket sets at Turlock from Barry. The fathers day show I also bought another half dozen rebuild sets, also from Barry. Seems that he goes to the big meets out west. Talked to him about the Big Three in San Diego this month, also a plan to attend and bring some Winfield stuff. He should bring some beautifully restored carbs. Not cheap in that condition. After struggling for a long time to get in contact with Barry, I ended up buying an SR carb kit from Brauns Automotive. It wont be cheap, but if you really need one, contact them and they should have one in stock. Good luck
