Painting inside of Gas Cap
I have a very nice original 30/31 Gas Cap. A little rusty on innerside but cleaned up nice. Could anyone recomend a Gasoline resistant finnish for the innerside of Cap? Thanks

Re: Painting inside of Gas Cap
I'd smear a little oil or grease on it and let er eat. Anything else might flake off and fall in the tank later on and cause problems. Good Luck

I heard I can Black Oxide it and it will not effect the Stainless cap.

Re: Painting inside of Gas Cap
I would use the home cad plating kit from Caswell.
My second choice would be to smear a little grease on it and forget it. I wouldn't use paint. |

Be safe and use the grease. Nobody will see it but you and that's only every 150 to 200 miles.
