Question Wire wheel adaptors to 4 3/4" hub

Does anyone know of adaptors that allow use of 21" wires on a Chevy hub. I'm planning to use S-10 disk hubs / brakes on an A, and the available adaptors from 4 3/4" to 5 1/2" bolt patterns don't account for the required support for the wire wheels. I know you can use the support plates, but it would be better if the adaptor was made to support those wheels. Guess I can make some, but I'm a very lazy individual.

I've got the S-10 disk brakes on my hot rod 29 pickup, and love them. For a driver, I like good brakes that keep working well and I can rely on. But on that one, I used different wheels, so no issues. Thanks in advance for any suggestions that don't include things like "keep the mechanical brakes".

I'm afraid you'll have to make your own, or modify some commercial ones?

Speedway, for one, has them. Biggest problem is they move the wheel out about 1-1/2"

Contact Doug: sales@ USwheeladapters.com . You'll need to provide backspacing and other dimensions they request, especially to clear the disc brake calipers.

Randy, someone told me or I read somewhere, that those Speedway adaptors don't give the 21 inch wheels adequite backing support. I can live with the additional thickness of the adaptor, but don't want an unsafe wheel situation.

Duke, thanks for the lead. The calipers are back out of the way, so no issue there. My concern is for adequite wheel back support.

Gary, hello fellow Washingtonian. I've reviewed the excellent link you provided, but came away not knowing the answer.

When looking for these adapters you must know if your 21 inch wheels are of the "AR" variety or the newer 21 wheels!

As far as I know the 21 inch AR wheels will NOT work with these adapters.
