Default Cardboard panel to cover back side of Roadster seat

Trying to find what was used to cover the back side of a '30 Roadster seat backrest. With the rumble seat open, the backrest springs are exposed and look ugly and untidy. I haven't found any of the vendors selling such a piece. I can always use thin masonite sheet, but wondered what was used originally from the factory, if anything.

Have a piece of cardboard from LeBaron-Bonney (Out of business) with vent holes built in so the air would escape when you set on the front seat, I am assuming. Roadster probably had the same.

TMarsh,
Thanks for your comment. I never thought about the vent holes, but makes perfect sense. I'll include some holes in whatever I come up with. Any chance you might have a photo of what you're describing so maybe I can come close to looking original?

The Restoration Guidelines says:
All Coupes and Roadsters had a panel on the front seat back that would match the optional rumble seat panel (side panels). This panel was attached to the seat with black enameled upholstery tacks. Coupes and Cabriolets with adjustable seats had 4 - 1" breather holes in the seat back panel.
Here is a picture of my original seat back panel. My 1930 coupe has an adjustable seat.

Go to an Auto Trim Shop and ask for a sheet of panel board. It is about 1/8 inch thick and is usually black, but you can sew some vinyl of needed color onto it. It can also be painted to your desired color. John

Thanks guys! I knew that something should be there to cover up the unsightly seat springs, just wasn't sure what. Appreciate the comments.

Or go to your local big box hardware store and pic up a 1/8", sheet of Masonite, then prepare it accordingly.

Yeah, picked up a half sheet of 1/8" Masonite and cut it down to fit. Already have it it place and it looks pretty good - almost like the factory did it. Painted with rattle can paint to make it look "finished".
