Default Rear door check rubber on "31 Slant window problem

On the car I have the rubber door check strap wants to double up on the hinge side about 80% of the time it closes. If I exert slight pressure on it using my finger tip as it closes it does run down into the tunnel as it should. I spayed a little WD -40 on it and it didn't really cure the problem. Anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do. The other door closes as it should. An explanation of how to replace or adjust would be appreciated. Got it out of storage today and had a great day driving.

It sounds like the check strap is too flexible must be a repro. I still have one original and it was molded out of material like a truck mud flap with cotton fibers impregnated. My repro strap broke after a few years. Repro straps are junk.

May need a new one & put some vaseline on it , once it goes in& out a few times it should continue to do that , If it gets or got bent once then it trys to do it each time , An old one will be less likley to bend . All above applies to a door check strap ??
