Default Favor Parts Supplier

What is your favorite new parts supplier? I've used Macs, Ecklers and Mikes. I am looking for parts to rebuild my front axle. Spindle Bushings, king pins, wheel bearings, etc. Where would you buy those parts?
Thanks for your help!
Bill

Macs, Ecklers and Mikes are all good and sell the sometimes exact same parts but may charge different prices or some will have them on sale. Here are some more I use and always shop around, trying this part search .( front spindle bolt kit with king pins Model A Ford) snydersantiqueauto.com ($115) Snyders , .brattons.com ($159.50) , .mikes-afordable.com ($90.75) , modelastore.com ($112)this is Berts , modelaparts.com ($115) Tams , cwmoss.com ($119.95) , macsautoparts.com ($87.99) Macs and Ecklers are the same they just favor different models , snjparts.com ($115) Smith & Jones . These are a few I trust and you see how much different the price varies , when you choose one you might call to see if they have it in stock.

Is MAC's/Eckler's still in the Model A business after Turn 5 bought them?

I have been using Bert's Model A center in Denver area. Been very happy with their parts, prices, and shipping.

Living in California I save on shipping cost by ordering from Arizona Model A.
Sammy is a pleasure to deal with. Call him on the phone and give him your order. He boxes it and ships it out immediately. He packs the invoice with the order and when you get the parts you send him the payment.
He has all the same parts the other guys have.

apparently so- but they have very little. customer service is a joke and Ild recommend just about anybody else............

Snyders has always done me well and they generally have everything in stock.
Amazing Chris mentions you pay Sammy AFTER you get the parts. Didnt think business could be done like that today. So many questionable characters out there.

Snyder's, Bert's, Mike's, have all been great for me. I typically try Mike's first since he is located in my home state.

I want to put in a plug for Tam's Model A Parts. They're not as high-tech as the other vendors, but I recently ordered some parts from them and they let me know that one of the items in stock had been judged not suitable for sale, so they had ordered one from another supplier and were having it drop-shipped to me in parallel with the rest of my order.

I think it's a guy and his daughter running the business. They were nice to talk to.

I have the same experience but with CWMOSS. Call them and they’ll help you, I love that they ask questions about my projects to ensure I get EVERYTHING I need. I’m famous for forgetting some small dumb part that would typically stop or slow me down had they not asked me if I needed it. They’re in CA and pack/ship quickly also. I live in CA and typically get my boxes in 2 days.

x2 on TAM'S in MA. Father/daughter business. My very first parts order, I needed all the brake rod adjustable ends. Ordered all the same size since I didn't know the e-brake was different. She called me because she noticed I made a mistake. Corrected the order over the phone...talk about customer service! Again, this was my first order with any Model A parts supplier. My 'go to' if they have what I need.

Should read their info regarding 'ground shipping'....very funny.

C.W.Moss sells Vintique brand hot rod parts. Good for a hot rod but not for a real Model A. Example. I needed some original screws for the tail light to bracket on my '30. I drove to Orange to buy them from Moss. Got home and when I tried to use them the thread was wrong. A phone call to Moss got me this answer. "We make the screws to fit OUR tail lights, not originals." So this tells me their tail lights aren't good replacements either.

Chris, you have to be careful. Other vendors sell Vintique parts also. The cowl lights you get from most of the vendors are Vintique. They don't even point in the same direction.

I ask now. If Vintique, I pass.

I bought these Vintique cowl lights from a Vendor in Colorado...nice fit.

I use Bert's almost exclusively. They only charge actual cost for shipping.
And when everyone is out of some things, you can sometimes get original parts from Steve's 500,000 parts stash.

I ended up buying parts from Bert's. I bought kingpins, kingpin bushings and wheel bearings. All the parts look good.
Now comes the problem. I drove out the old bearing races from the first drum and reinstalled the new races. When I put the drum on and tightened the spindle nut the drum locked down solid! I backed the nut off a bit to allow it to turn and it makes a terrible dragging sound. It appears that the portion of the drum where the inner bearing sits is rubbing on the spindle just behind the inner race. The old bearing is about .010 of an inch thicker than the new bearing. I'm tired, so I gave up for the day. Tomorrow Ill get back into it again.Has anyone had this problem before. Over the years I've changed out bearings in other cars before and never had a problem like this!
I was so happy because everything came apart quite easily.
What bare your thoughts?
Thanks,
Bill

You are buying a pig in a poke for repro parts online. I like the descriptions that tell you if it's a good part or one that just isn't quite right. Another problem I've seen is some list a part for 28-31 and others have them broken down into 28-29 and 30-31. Example I ordered the springs that hold the headlight lens in they said fit 28-31 - they didn't. Did some more research and the 28-29 are smaller diameter wire. Bratton's offered both types. I got the early ones that fit correctly behind the rolled lip of the trim ring. Part 18100 v later 18110
