Default 35/36 16 gal gas tanks

Hi are any of the vendors making 16 gallon gas tanks with the correct threaded fill pipe? Thanks Dan.

Hi Everyone. Dan, no and yes. Carpenter makes a tank that physically fits in either 35/36.

My experience was to use an original '35 threaded fuel neck to go in a '35 car to match the fender height where the filler exits. Use a '36 neck (available repro? I got one when I got my tank about three years ago) with a '36 fender which has a different curve profile in that area.

The repro/36 neck on a '35 fender makes the filler sit low at the hole where the filler cap is.

Added: Was just flipping through Don Rogers' '36 book and you might want to look at page 92. A nice pic with some part numbers.

Ok thanks Jeff. I have a few original tanks. Looks like I’ll be buying the acid tank treatment. I thought if I could buy the bigger one I’ll get it new.
