Simca flatty V8 84
City:
Morgan Hill
State:
California
Just brought home a Simca V8 flathead. From what I've learned it's a 1958 and this year was a 2.4 84hp motor. It has a T84G-1 side shift transmission which I think is from a GPW. These came with aluminum heads and a 2 barrel Zenith carb. This one has a Ford 94 carb on it.
The motor has been for sale several times over the last 10+ years. The guy I got it from had it less than a week. He did get it running though. Looking forward to learning all I can about it. Not sure what it will go in but possibly a 1938 Hillman Minx. This is it running last week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDSNNzO4M70 . Last edited by dlyle; 05-04-2021 at 06:38 PM. |

Is this for the throw out bearing? Never seen anything like this.

Also trying to find out information on this distributor. Resembles one from an 8BA but I'm new to all this so can't be sure.

Re: Simca flatty V8 84
Bought an 8BA cap and it fits so I'm thinking this is an 8BA distributor. Bought some plug wires and a rotor too so may try and fire it up again soon..

Made the stand out of 1x1 tubing and added some casters. Seems to move easy enough now. |
